Welcome to the first of hopefully many blogs from Dad at Dad's Diner. It was suggested to me my one of my loyal customers that I keep a journal of the daily goings on here at Dad's Diner. I thought what better way to share a journal about the diner then in a blog. So here we go:
The restaurant was "Omellets N Moore" for a few years before the owner decided to shut it down. It was closed at 11:00 AM on December 24th, 2009. I, with the help of an investor, purchased the place on December 31, 2009 and reopened it as Dad's Diner on January 16, 2010. We had a lot of business the first month we were open. I think a lot of people wanted to see if it was going to be like Omellets N Moore when they were at the top of their game. Not having any real experience in running a full service restaurant, mistakes were made, service was slow and the food needed improvement. But with a lot of hard work and prayer, we have began to make a name for Dad's Diner. Our customers are talking about how great the food and service is! We love getting new customers everyday and we cherish our regular customers that eat with us on daily basis.
Dad's Diner is truly a community hot spot. Recently we had a horrible hail storm in Moore and many people have had thousands of dollars in damage to their homes and cars. The day after the storm, my regulars had gathered in the diner for their breakfast and everyone was talking to everyone about the storm. Conversations were not confined to just the people at your table but were shared throughout the entire dining area. There is a bulletin board posted just inside the door with business cards, flyer's and announcements from businesses and organizations within the community.
Dad's Diner is all about the food. Dad is always pushing for the WOW factor when it comes to the food. We want to hear our customer literally say "WOW" when they take a bite of anything we serve them. And that includes the coffee!
Dad's Diner is about family and friends. We welcome the youngest to the oldest with open arms. We're about building long term friendships with our customers and making sure that every visit to Dad's is a pleasant one.
Thanks for reading the blog. Hope to see you soon at Dad's.
